A Short Story

The Child Within Us Lives!

A little story:

There was this old man who had the rug pulled out from underneath him, that is he had a debilitating stroke due to heart ailments--the doctors did not expect him to live. He is lying there on the hospital bed with tubes sticking in and out of him all different places. A nurse comes to his bed, bends down and whispers in his ear, "Does you know what love is?"

The old man wondered for a moment, he had been talking about love for thirty years, but still he answered truthfully, "No, I don't know what love is."  The nurse bent down and whispered again in his ear, "It don't matter, 'cause I love you and God loves you!".

From that moment, the old man started to get well and and later when he tells the story of how his healing began, he would say, "No, I don't know what  love is -- but I know that love IS!"

  1. Bill lived the last four years of his life with only capillary supply to his heart and no major arterial blood supply. The doctors were amazed and said the only way he could be alive was through Divine Intervention.

  2. Hi Lou,

What a lovely surprise--Good to see you stop by!

Great addition to this story. Yes, it is remarkable what Love and Understanding can do! Looking for Good in all things; healing, answers and peace can come in ways our logic and reason might not have expected. The heart knows-- and literally our physical heart knows.

--Thanks for sharing that with us. Nice to have you here-- Much Love to you, Sandy
